Pre-Event Hike & Dine

Kick off the BIOTECH SUMMIT AUSTRIA with a unique pre-event in Innsbruck. We will start with a short hike to the iconic Bergisel Ski Jump (departure 3:45 PM), where a guided visit awaits.

Discover one of Austria’s most impressive landmarks and enjoy breathtaking views over Innsbruck. For the truly brave, there will even be the chance to experience the thrill of a ski jumper on the famous “Zitterbalken”.

A simple yet delicious meal will be provided—making this the perfect opportunity to connect, unwind, and start the summit in a relaxed and memorable way.

Programme:

3:45 PM    Gathering at meeting point “Parkplatz Bergisel” next to Restaurant 1809

4:00 PM    Start of the hike “Panoramarunde Bergisel” – a panoramic walk with lovely views of the “Sillschlucht”

5:00 PM    Aperitif near the ski jump arena 

6:00 PM    Guided tour of the ski jump arena

7:00 PM    Dinner at „Bergisel Sky“

Whilst enjoying an aperitif, a small group of people can try out the starting block (“Zitterbalken”) from which the ski jumpers take off. You will, of course, be fully secured whilst doing so. You can express your interest during on-site registration at 3:45 PM. The draw will take place during the pre-event.

You can reach the starting point of the approximately 45-minute walk ("Panoramarunde") by bus, tram or car:

The Bergisel bus 589 runs from Innsbruck Central Station to the “Parkplatz Bergisel”. Alternatively, tram line 1 runs, for example, from “Innsbruck Landesmuseum” to the “Innsbruck Bergisel A” stop, after which it is a 10-minute walk to the “Parkplatz Bergisel”. You can use both of these free of charge with the conference ticket (more information here).

Also a (paid) car park is available for cars (Parkplatz Bergisel, 6020 Innsbruck).

The wide but stony path runs through the forest with a moderate to steep gradient. We therefore recommend sturdy footwear with good grip, particularly in wet conditions.
